Online Bidding
Palletlots operate this website for the convenience of its trade buyers. Bidders have to register and be verified before they can submit bids on the website. The website is designed to allow buyers to register bids which will be considered at the live auctions subject to the auctioneers discretion. Bidders can submit a single bid or a range of bids (e.g. start bid £50 maximum bid £100) in increments of £10. Only the highest bid submitted on the website will be considered at the auction along with the unspent maximum bid consideration.
In the days leading up to an auction sale various bidders may submit bids for a particular lot. If you submit a single bid and, that bid is exceeded by another bidder, you will be notified by email so that you may consider another bid.
Close of Internet Bidding
The online bidding will end at midnight the day before the live auction in Leeds. The maximum bid will be submitted at the auction as the opening bid for that particular lot. If a bidder in the auction room exceeds that bid then the online bidder is outbid and therefore loses the auction.
If an online bidder submits a range bid say, starting bid =£100 up to a maximum bid =£150 and he wins the online auction with a bid at £120 then the auctioneer will start the bidding at £120 and ask for other competing bids to be offered in the auction room. If no other bids are offered the sale is ended and won by the online bidder at £120. If a competing bid is offered in the auction room say at £130 then the auctioneer will use his discretion to submit a further bid on behalf of the online bidder to try and secure the lot on his behalf. This will continue up to the
internet bidder's maximum online bid. If the saleroom bid exceeds that of the online bidders maximum level (in this case £150) the lot is lost to the saleroom buyer.
Online bidding allows customers who cannot attend the auction to submit their bids from the comfort of the home or the office in any part of the UK.
Online Payment
Online bidders who are successful in submitting a bid to the live auction will be asked to pay a 10% deposit of the successful bid prior to the start of the auction this can be done via credit card over the telephone on the morning of the sale. If the lot is secured, on behalf of the online bidder, the balance will be payable at the completion of the sale.
